Born out of personal experience and need in the area, the American Autism & Rehabilitation Center, AARC., was created to provide hope and assistance to families living in the world of special needs. We focus on early intervention, family support, and minimizing the obstacles that interfere with independence for the growing child with special needs. We recognize that providing comprehensive services and therapies in one location can greatly benefit these families. We believe in the importance of walking through each diagnosis with each patient and family. Each treatment plan should be as unique as the patient, using family-goal driven, individual-based approaches. We rely on staff collaboration within each service to help achieve as much individualized care as possible. Through these services, our goal is to connect with each patient and help them reach their full potential. Our highly educated and passionate pediatric specialists focus not only on the therapeutic aspect of healing, but real issues that cause family structures to break down, leaving the special needs child lost in the shuffle. The majority of a special needs parent’s time is spent coping, keeping their child safe, getting them to and from therapy, and providing hygiene, even into adulthood. Sadly, their focus shifts from other children in the family, leaving them vulnerable to outside forces, loss of self-esteem, isolation, etc. Due to these sometime despairing and heart-breaking issues, AARC puts great emphasis on supporting the family as a whole by hosting an array of events listed below.
