I am a double board-certified pediatrician in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and the founder of Lumira Pediatrics, an integrative pediatric practice serving children throughout Florida. I spent twelve years as a pediatric hospitalist before building an independent practice. My work focuses on the gut-skin-neuro-immune axis: how the early gut microbiome, nutritional and metabolic status, immune function, and environmental exposures shape what later shows up as eczema and the atopic march, feeding and gastrointestinal problems, and neurodevelopmental and neuroimmune conditions. Most of the children I see have been treated one body system at a time, across many subspecialties. My job is to ask what connects the pieces. I am also the mother of children with neurodevelopmental differences, which is how what brought me to this work.
